Autore: Redazione 08/04/2026 20:07

"Andrea Granchi. Chaser of Horizons" at Polo Aldi, Saturnia

The Polo culturale Pietro Aldi in Saturnia (Manciano), owned by Banca Tema and managed by Tema Vita, presents an exhibition dedicated to Andrea Granchi, an artist, filmmaker and educator who played a pivotal role in the foundation and growth of the museum dedicated to Pietro Aldi.

Curated by Giacomo Granchi, the exhibition brings together about forty works in a variety of media, guiding visitors through the artist's wide-ranging practice including painting, artist books and experimental film work.

  • Works on display: pastels, oils, watercolours, ceramics, artist books
  • Curatorship and catalogue: curated by Giacomo Granchi; catalogue edited by Marco Firmati and Giacomo Granchi, published by Effigi
  • Catalogue contributions: essays and presentations by Eugenio Giani, Massimo Barbini, Cristina Acidini, Marco Firmati and other critics and scholars

Andrea Granchi, who died on 10 December 2024 aged 77, had been entrusted since 1992 with restoring, cataloguing and developing the collection of Pietro Aldi for the local bank. His dedication was instrumental in turning the initial holdings into a cultural hub of regional importance.

Massimo Barbini, president of Tema Vita, recalls that the revival and promotion of Aldi's work and the eventual creation of the Polo culturale were made possible in large part by Granchi's commitment. Contributors such as Cristina Acidini highlight his multifaceted role as painter, restorer, filmmaker and cultural educator.

Visiting period: inaugurated on Wednesday 1 April 2026, the exhibition is open until 5 July 2026. For practical visiting hours and access details, contact the Polo culturale Pietro Aldi or the museum management directly.
