Sardinia in Miniature: the theme park between dinosaurs and history

Autore: Redazione 01/08/2025 14:23

Reopened in 2022 with a completely renewed and enriched look—but with the same educational and spectacular spirit that, since its inauguration in 1999, has made it an original and formative destination for anyone visiting the island’s inland areas. We are talking about Sardinia in Miniature Park, a truly unique experience that combines nature, science, archaeology, and tradition in a single theme park.

But where can you find this marvel? The park is located in the hilly landscape of Trexenta, not far from Barumini, and offers visitors an interactive journey suitable for all ages.

During the season, the park is open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with continuous hours.

Six worlds, one ticket

The park includes six themed areas, each designed to spark curiosity, inspire wonder, and foster learning at the same time. A single ticket gives access to all areas:

  • Adults (from 12 years): €22
  • Children (from 1 m tall to 11 years): €17
  • Children under 1 m tall: free
  • Adult groups (min. 25 people): €18
  • Children’s groups (min. 25 people): €16

Dinosaur Park

Among the most spectacular in Italy, this area is brought to life by giant animatronic models such as the towering Apatosaurus (18 m), the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the enormous Argentinosaurus, stretching 35 meters long. The dinosaurs move, roar, and breathe, offering an immersive journey into prehistory. A whole section is dedicated to the little ones, featuring mechanized baby dinosaurs set in carefully recreated natural scenes.

Nature Park

A true immersion in global biodiversity. The journey begins in the Tropical Forest, among iguanas, colorful frogs, and chameleons, and continues to the Parrot Aviary, where dozens of vibrant birds fly freely. The new 2025 attraction is the World of Butterflies—a tropical environment where visitors can observe the entire life cycle of these fascinating insects. There’s also a section dedicated to succulent plants, symbols of resilience, introduced in 2019.

The Planetarium

Thanks to collaboration with the Cagliari Astronomical Observatory (INAF), the Planetarium invites you to travel among stars and planets with real-time projections and scientific explanations suitable for both children and adults. A sensory experience that makes astronomy engaging and accessible.

Astronomy Museum

An 80-meter museum path exploring the evolution of the universe, the birth of stars, astrobiology, and meteorite studies through multimedia installations, immersive environments, and interactive exhibits designed to stimulate scientific curiosity and imagination.

Miniature Park

The historic heart of the park and its namesake: a 360-meter walk among scale reproductions of Sardinia’s most important monuments. Nuraghi, Romanesque churches, Aragonese towers, and medieval castles are faithfully recreated with artisanal materials and colors true to the originals. An open-air work of art celebrating the island’s cultural heritage.

Nuragic Park

Here visitors step into the heart of Nuragic history, with accurate reconstructions of a courtyard house, a megaron temple, and the grand council hall. Through live demonstrations, you can watch clay being worked, bronze being cast, and other techniques from the Iron Age. A vivid experience where archaeology and craftsmanship meet.

A restaurant of tradition and flavor

For those wishing to end their visit with a relaxing break, the park features a restaurant serving dishes from Sardinia’s exquisite cuisine, prepared with local ingredients and authentic recipes.
