The Torre Massimiliana on the island of Sant'Erasmo has been granted for a three-year management period to a group of associations led by Coldiretti, together with AgrisArte, the Consorzio del carciofo violetto di Sant'Erasmo and the association Futura. The initiative links the conservation of the historic site with the promotion of local agricultural traditions.
The building is state-owned and under concession to the Municipality of Venice until 2031. It will be used for museal functions and cultural initiatives, ensuring public access and activities coherent with the nature of the site and the needs of the local community.
The Municipality states that the arrangement will ensure a steady presence at the site, guaranteeing opening hours, custody and routine care. The Municipality will cover energy costs and extraordinary maintenance, while the managers will handle daily operations, cleaning, ordinary maintenance and the organization of initiatives.
Involving organizations rooted in the territory aims to strengthen the link between heritage, local identity and community participation: the Torre is expected to become a reference point for promoting the Sant'Erasmo violet artichoke and traditional farming practices, as well as hosting cultural and social programs for residents and visitors.
