“Health on the Move”: Caronte & Tourist and Italian Red Cross bring

“Health on the Move”: free screenings in Messina’s suburbs

Caronte & Tourist, together with the Italian Red Cross, has launched “Health on the Move”, a proximity healthcare program offering seven days of free medical checks in Messina’s villages and suburban neighborhoods. The initiative targets people in socially vulnerable conditions and is part of the Group’s 60th anniversary activities.

Mobile Red Cross units staffed by volunteer doctors and qualified personnel will provide primary and specialist examinations. Local parishes will support logistics by providing spaces near churches for patient reception.

• Key dates and locations: April 12 (Chiesa di Mili San Marco, 9:00–13:00); April 19 (near the church of Curcuraci and surrounding centers); May 10 and 24; June 14 and 28; July 5, with stops in Villaggio C.E.P., Giostra, Giampilieri, Ganzirri and Camaro San Paolo.
• Available specialties: endocrinology, dermatology, cardiology, ENT, ophthalmology, plus speech therapy and nutrition.
• Purpose: bring prevention to where it is most needed and make medical checks accessible to those who struggle to reach healthcare facilities.

Updates will be published on Caronte & Tourist’s official channels and locally. The project builds on the earlier Villaggio della Salute held with Komen Italia, extending its reach through an itinerant model.
