Direct Catania–Montréal flights from June

From June 5 to October 23 Air Canada will launch a direct route connecting Catania-Fontanarossa airport with Montréal, operating three times a week. The service was presented at the Chamber of Commerce of South-East Sicily, with the Canadian ambassador and airport officials in attendance.

According to Nico Torrisi, CEO of SAC, the flight is «an opportunity to bring passengers from Montréal, with benefits for tourism and business». Air Canada also highlighted Montréal’s role as a hub for onward North American connections, increasing the route’s strategic value.

• Expected benefits: higher tourist flows, opportunities for local operators and stronger ties with the Italian diaspora in Canada

Local operators and institutions consider the new link a tool to attract investment and quality tourism, enhancing Sicily’s accessibility to the North American market.
