Italy’s cultural heritage saw a notable rise in public attendance during the Easter and Easter Monday weekend. Data from the Ministry of Culture show approximately 750,000 entries to state museums and archaeological parks, an increase of 9% compared with the same period in 2025.
The Colosseum led the figures with 81,841 visitors, while other major sites continued to attract large audiences.
The total represents about 57,000 more visits than in 2025 and highlights how museums are increasingly seen as spaces for experience and public engagement. Other sites with significant attendance included the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Galleria dell'Accademia, the Royal Museums of Turin, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, the Galleria Borghese and the Pinacoteca di Brera.
These figures point to not just quantitative success but to a strengthening role of cultural visitation in social life, with a broader and more diversified geographic distribution of cultural flows across the country.
