Wheels, youth and cities: Skate Italia is born

The Italian Federation of Roller Sports has announced its rebranding to Skate Italia during a presentation at the CONI Hall of Honour. The new identity aims for a more urban, youthful and sustainable positioning, aligned with the World Skate federation.

Officials attending included Skate Italia president Sabatino Aracu, institutional representatives and athletes such as Agustin Lautaro Aquila and artistic skating vice-world champion Gioia Fiori. The federation highlighted the role of skateparks as hubs for social gathering and urban regeneration.

• Facts: Skate Italia currently represents 11 disciplines, about 70,000 licensed athletes and over 1,100 affiliated clubs.
• 2026 schedule: Rome stages of the World Cup in Ostia and Colle Oppio and four other World Cup events between May and September; the season will culminate at the World Skate Games.
• Aims: run sustainable events, promote youth inclusion and generate economic and social benefits for host territories.

The rebranding is presented as a move toward an integrated sports and cultural ecosystem that turns urban spaces into places of participation and regeneration.
