The festival “Vespri a Vereto. Al Sud del Sud… dei Santi” has started in Patù, offering a series of walks, guided tours and musical itineraries between the Vereto hill and Piazza Indipendenza. The initiative is part of the Storie Meridiane project, promoted by the municipalities of Patù and Morciano di Leuca and financed through the PNRR Culture – M1C3I2.1 with NextGenerationEU funds.
The program pairs folk and traditional music with immersive theatrical experiences and archaeological routes to enhance local heritage and foster a sustainable tourism model supporting economic development and territorial cohesion.
Key aims include reopening and revitalising the Patù Archaeological Museum (MAV), promoting the Messapian site of Vereto and launching a new excavation campaign in cooperation with the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” led by archaeologist Valentino Nizzo.

The program is organised by Archeorete del Mediterraneo aps together with local partners (Associazione Narrazioni aps, Archès, University of Salento and others) and aims to combine cultural projects, local food and scenic routes to strengthen the Capo di Leuca as a sustainable year‑round destination.
