Europe Day in Rome: events and youth participation

On 8 and 9 May 2026 Rome hosts European Parliament initiatives for Europe Day, with thousands of young participants expected at Piazza del Campidoglio and the Pincio Terrace in Villa Borghese.

• 8 May – "Lights of Europe" at Piazza del Campidoglio: dialogues between young people and institutions, the award ceremony of the "Dream for Europe" photo contest and a symbolic handover of the Ukrainian flag by schools involved in the "100×100 education bridges" project.
• 9 May – Europe Village at the Pincio: a public event with talks, artistic and musical performances, information on student mobility, Erasmus and EU projects; agencies such as the JRC, EFSA, ESA-ESRIN, ETF and national Erasmus+ agencies will be present.
