Rome: Sagra del Vino returns to Testaccio with tastings and cultural talks

From May 7 to 10 the Città dell'Altra Economia in Testaccio hosts the Sagra del Vino, four days dedicated to Italy's winemaking excellence. The event brings together producers and wineries from 20 regions with more than one hundred selected labels.

The festival aims to present wine not only as a gastronomic product but as an element deeply connected to history, territory and local traditions. This edition's theme is “Wine as a cultural landscape”, featuring talks and panels on native grape varieties, supply-chain sustainability and the transformation of rural landscapes in response to climate change.

• Guided tastings and tasting stations with wineries from across Italy;
• Discussions with producers, sommeliers and researchers on wine's cultural role;
• Educational workshops for families and children on grape aromas and harvest traditions;
• Food area with street food and sweet offerings, including Forno Bianchi and Smash Joint.

The event reinforces Testaccio's role as a meeting point for conviviality and gastronomic culture, allowing the public to explore the scents and characteristics of Italy's diverse wine regions.
