Reverberaciones

Reverberaciones is a group exhibition at Von Buren Contemporary in Rome presenting three Spanish contemporary practices: Leonor Benito de la Lastra, Luis J. Fernández and Juan José Martínez Cánovas. The show combines photography, drawing and painting to explore themes of memory, symbolism and metamorphosis.

Leonor Benito de la Lastra works with analog photographic processes and chemical manipulations in black and white, producing intimate, poetic fragments that reflect on time and memory. Luis J. Fernández presents still lifes and constructed scenes layered with symbolic elements, where natural motifs meet darker tonalities to suggest multiple readings. Juan José Martínez Cánovas focuses on graphite portraits of hybrid human-animal figures, merging myth and reality with technical drawing mastery.

The exhibition creates a dialogue between different visual languages—poetic and surreal, documentary and symbolic—making it relevant both for followers of experimental analog photography and for enthusiasts of contemporary drawing and painting.
