Venue: Palazzo Merulana, Rome
Curator: Gianluca Marziani
This exhibition offers a contemporary reading of Italian figurative painting through selections from the Elena and Claudio Cerasi Collection. The display investigates how historical painting methods and themes continue to resonate and be reinterpreted in today's artistic practice, creating a «circular spirit» that links past and present.
The section devoted to Nicola Pucci highlights his vision-driven realism: canvases where figures, animals and dreamlike settings coexist in narrative compositions. Pucci’s work merges meticulous figuration with surreal elements, proposing a contemporary reinterpretation of classical motifs with strong emotional resonance.
