From 28 September to 2 October, L'Aquila — Italy's Capital of Culture 2026 — will host the 78th Prix Italia, the international competition organized by RAI that celebrates excellence in radio, television and digital production.
For the first time the festival will take place in the city's historic centre, a setting described as a symbol of renewal and innovation, and an ideal stage to explore the intersection of creativity and technology. The event will gather directors, authors, artists and industry professionals from dozens of countries and will include RAI previews and professional encounters.
Key facts
The Abruzzo Region and the Film Commission will provide logistical and technical support to encourage international productions and co‑productions. Broadcasters can register until 8 June; rules and information are published on RAI's official site (www.rai.it/prixitalia).
Hosting Prix Italia in L'Aquila aims to enhance local resources and production skills, offering visibility and exchange opportunities for the territory.
