“Spring in Roccastrada”: the festival launches the summer program

Roccastrada (Grosseto) is preparing a busy season of events promoting the territory, combining local food, popular traditions and cultural initiatives. Now in its fourth year, the festival features a programme of fairs, celebrations and activities across the town and surrounding hamlets, organized by the municipality together with local associations.

Key dates to note:

• 1 May – Labour Day celebration in Torniella;
• 10 May – “La Val di Farma e i suoi sapori” in Torniella;
• 17 May – nature walk from Sassofortino to Roccatederighi;
• 24 May – “Once upon a mine…” in Ribolla (mining route and children’s workshops);
• 26–27–28 June – hot pepper festival in Ribolla;
• 9 July – “Calici sotto il Castello” in Montemassi (moved forward for organisational reasons);
• 4–13 September – “Settembre Roccastradino”, closing events in the town centre.

The programme also includes performances from the Grey Cat festival, pasta and traditional food festivals, local parties, concerts, itinerant amateur theatre and guided walks to historical and archaeological sites. The municipality highlights that the offer targets families, culture lovers and food enthusiasts, with an emphasis on sustainability.

Detailed scheduling and registrations are handled by the Roccastrada tourist information office and the Pro Loco associations. The initiative seeks to enhance the area’s historical and gastronomic heritage and attract visitors to its landscapes and traditions.
