First exhibition on Giovanni Agostino da Lodi at the Pinacoteca di Brera
Milan presents the inaugural monographic exhibition on Giovanni Agostino da Lodi, active at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. The show retraces the artist's stylistic evolution and places his works alongside those of major contemporaries and pieces from Italian and international collections.
Curated by Maria Cristina Passoni and Cristina Quattrini, with a scientific committee composed of Alessandro Ballarin, Francesco Frangi, Mauro Natale, Maria Cristina Passoni, Cristina Quattrini, Edoardo Rossetti and Marco Tanzi, the exhibition aims to introduce the artist to a wider public beyond specialist circles.
The displays highlight the cultural exchanges between Milan and Venice that shaped Giovanni Agostino's development. Visible influences include Bramantino, Leonardo da Vinci, Alvise Vivarini, Giovanni Bellini, Boccaccio Boccaccino, Giorgione and Albrecht Dürer.
