The Chamber of Deputies hosted the presentation of The Country of Traditions, authored by Beppe Convertini, published by Rai Libri and produced in collaboration with UNPLI - Union of Italy's Pro Loco. The event gathered authors, institutional representatives and cultural operators to discuss the value of local traditions and the role of communities in protecting intangible cultural heritage.
Speakers at the event included Beppe Convertini and Antonino La Spina, president of UNPLI, alongside deputy Gimmi Cangiano; the discussion was moderated by journalist Marzia Roncacci. The book aims to narrate places, people and customs that shape Italy's identity and to serve as a guide for those who wish to discover the country's authentic cultural soul with respect and curiosity.
"The Country of Traditions is becoming a reference point for those who love to travel with curiosity and respect, seeking the soul of places," Convertini said. Antonino La Spina highlighted that the book amplifies the work of Pro Loco and showcases a distributed wealth of traditions that help define the nation's identity.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to promote Italy's cultural roots and intangible heritage, aiming to strengthen ties between local communities, institutions and cultural tourism stakeholders.
