The Cappella dei Mercanti, an important historical site of the Pia Congregazione dei Banchieri, Negozianti e Mercanti in Turin, has been included in the national Monumenti Aperti 2026 programme. The inclusion will allow the public to visit a space that is usually closed to visitors during the project's XXX edition.
Visits to the chapel are scheduled for Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026, as Turin takes part in the autumn leg of the national circuit. The selection was notified to the Prefect of the Pia Congregazione, Arturo Santise.
Founded in Cagliari in 1997, Monumenti Aperti has grown into a nationwide effort to promote lesser-known cultural sites. Recent editions have attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors and engaged thousands of students and volunteers.
During the open days, members of the congregation will be supported by Liceo Cavour students in visitor welcome and cultural mediation. The initiative aims to highlight the chapel's role in Turin's civic, economic and religious history and to engage younger generations in cultural preservation.
