Laudomia Bonanni Prize 2026: call for entries online for the 25th edition

The call for entries for the 25th Laudomia Bonanni International Poetry Prize – Città dell’Aquila – BPER Banca is now available at www.premiopoesiabonannibperbanca.it. The initiative is part of L’Aquila – Italian Capital of Culture 2026 and aims to connect literary production with education and community participation.

The competition is open to schools, universities, publishers and penitentiary institutions and is divided into four sections:

• Section A: published poetry, for works released from 1 January 2024 onward;
• Section B: high school students from the province of L’Aquila, submitting collections of unpublished poems;
• Section C: for inmates of Italian penitentiary institutions;
• Section D: university students, who must produce an “impossible interview” with Laudomia Bonanni focusing on the novel "L’imputata".

Awards include monetary prizes up to €2,000, a scholarship for the university section and a mixed jury that will include local students. Stefania Pezzopane, president of the jury, highlighted that the 25th edition seeks to strengthen ties between Bonanni’s legacy, local places and younger generations.
