Pordenone launches 'La Cultura che Cura': a multi-year project linking

Presented to the press: the multi-year project "La Cultura che Cura"

On 10 April 2026 the Municipality of Pordenone presented the multi-year project La Cultura che Cura, part of the Pordenone 2027. Città che sorprende dossier. Promoted by the Azienda Sanitaria Friuli Occidentale (AsFO), the Centro di Riferimento Oncologico di Aviano (CRO) and the Istituto Flora, the initiative investigates the relationship between culture and health through training, cultural production, outreach and research.

The project aims to integrate artistic practices into care pathways and promote cultural social prescriptions, directing patients and people in vulnerable conditions toward cultural resources as part of overall wellbeing. It involves schools, social services, associations and the local theatre, focusing on young people and fragile groups.

Upcoming highlights:

• 17 April – 2 May 2026: opening and run of the photographic exhibition The Beauty of Imperfection at Pordenone Civic Library, featuring images by adolescents from AIEOP centres.
• 22 April 2026: a talk at the Ridotto of Teatro Verdi with psychopedagogist Barbara Tamborini to discuss the exhibition and participants' reflections.

Launched in 2025, the programme will continue through 2026 and 2027 with further activities, including ongoing training for healthcare staff and the development of a network of link workers to create personalised cultural pathways for people facing illness or vulnerability.
