Easter: first guided tour of the exhibition “Here Italy is made. The image of the hero from Bistolfi to Baroni”

On Sunday 5 April 2026 at 4:00 PM (Easter Sunday), the Civic Museum and Gipsoteca Bistolfi will host the first guided tour of the exhibition “Here Italy is made. The image of the hero from Bistolfi to Baroni”. The event is organised in cooperation with the Municipality of Casale Monferrato, the local Rotary Club and the De Ferrari Foundation, supported by several institutional and corporate partners.

The exhibition examines how the heroic figure was represented in sculpture and painting from the early years of unified Italy through the post‑World War I period, highlighting a shift toward classical references and more rhetorical styles. Special attention is given to sculptor Eugenio Baroni alongside Antonio Bistolfi.

  • Featured artists: Antonio Bistolfi, Eugenio Baroni, Gaetano Previati, Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, Plinio Nomellini, Libero Andreotti, Eliseo Sala.
  • Works on display: drawings, bas‑reliefs and plaster sculptures; a notable selection from the Martelli‑Bistolfi donation (2021/2023), partly restored and newly exhibited.
  • Scientific committee: Sandra Berresford, Leo Lecci and Aurora Scotti.

No reservation is required to join the guided tour. Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Full price: €8
  • Reduced: €5 (over 60s, students 16–24, Coop and Touring members)
  • Compulsory schools and Museum Pass holders: €4 contribution for the guided tour (free admission)

The next guided tour will be held on Saturday 11 April 2026 at 4:00 PM.
