Gallerie d'Italia in Turin hosts Nick Brandt's project The Day May Break from 18 March to 6 September 2026. The exhibition gathers 63 powerful large-format photographs that explore climate breakdown and environmental loss through intimate portraits of people and animals affected by these changes.
The show brings together the complete series, organised into four geographic chapters that each highlight a different facet of the global ecological emergency.
Brandt's method is notable for its careful, hands-on process: long preparation periods and collaboration with local communities shape the work. His framing often places humans and animals in the same scene, producing suspended, formally refined images that intensify the subject's drama.
The exhibition also features behind-the-scenes video and photographic material revealing the project's production. It combines aesthetic rigor with civic engagement, inviting visitors to reflect on the intertwined fate of people and the planet.
Visitor tips: book ahead during busy periods and check the foundation's website for guided tours or educational activities.
