The Ministry of Culture is promoting two days dedicated to Italy's cultural heritage: on Sunday, April 5, "Sunday at the museum" provides free entry to state cultural sites; on Monday, April 6 many institutions will be open exceptionally. The initiative aims to broaden public access to cultural venues during the holidays.
Free access on April 5 includes:
Easter Monday, April 6: many sites will open exceptionally on Monday; admission is generally at the standard rate and access rules depend on each institution.
The Lazio region and Rome offer a particularly wide cultural program, with numerous sites ranging from urban museums to archaeological parks and historic villas. To avoid inconveniences, check the official website of each museum or use the national museums app for updated opening hours, reservations and access rules.
The initiative seeks to make culture more accessible and to highlight Italy's artistic heritage during the holidays: plan visits in advance and verify any access limitations or reservation requirements set by individual institutions.
