A three-year collaboration agreement has been signed in Turin between the Domaine national de Chambord and Venaria Reale. The partnership aims to strengthen operational ties between two UNESCO World Heritage sites and members of the Association of Royal Residences of Europe (ARRE).
The agreement highlights historical affinities between the two complexes — both royal residences and historic hunting reserves that reflect cultural exchanges between Italy and France from the Renaissance through the Baroque. The collaboration enables sharing of managerial and scientific expertise essential to preserving landscapes, collections and protected habitats.
Venaria Reale: the former ducal residence of the Savoy family, restored and reopened in 2007, stands as a major expression of Italian Baroque. The complex includes palaces, gardens and landscapes and is among Italy's most visited cultural sites.
Domaine national de Chambord: a landmark of the French Renaissance, renowned for its double-helix staircase linked to Leonardo da Vinci. The estate also includes an extensive protected forest with rare habitats and species.
The partnership foresees initiatives for cultural operators, researchers and visitors. For more information and event schedules, consult the official websites: www.lavenaria.it and www.chambord.org.
