Parco Zoo Falconara – A Mission Built on Four Pillars

Autore: Redazione 29/08/2025 18:09

In the province of Ancona, on the gentle Marche hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea, stands the Parco Zoo Falconara — a place where entertainment lives side by side with environmental awareness and scientific research. The park’s mission is built on four main pillars: animal welfare, environmental education, scientific research, and species conservation.

Animal Welfare

At Parco Zoo Falconara, the well-being of animals always comes first. Every species lives in an environment specifically designed to recreate its natural habitat as closely as possible, ensuring comfort and safety. Each animal receives constant veterinary care and a carefully studied diet tailored to its needs.

A crucial role in this daily work is played by the zookeepers — the true “guardian angels” of the park. With dedication and expertise, they monitor the animals’ health, collaborate with veterinarians and biologists, and build trust-based relationships with each individual animal.

Education and Research

One of the park’s key missions is environmental education. The zoo also serves as an educational center for schools, families, and visitors of all ages, offering workshops, guided tours, and interactive activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of protecting wildlife.

Through thematic routes and educational programs, every visit becomes an opportunity for active learning, where curiosity and wonder are transformed into environmental consciousness.

Conservation and Science

The conservation of species is one of the park’s most significant goals. Through breeding programs for endangered species and collaborations with international projects, the park contributes to the protection of global biodiversity. At the same time, it works closely with universities and research institutes, supporting studies that deepen knowledge of animal behavior and ecological needs.

The Park’s Residents

Visitors can get close to animals from every corner of the world — from the majestic griffon vulture and the Watusi ox to the eastern grey kangaroo and the raccoon dog, as well as the friendly capybaras and the ever-popular camels.
