The Maremma Nature Park is one of the most authentic natural jewels of Italy. It is also known as the Uccellina Park and is located in the southern part of Tuscany, between the mouth of the Ombrone River and Talamone. It is composed of hills and beaches, woods and pine forests, swamps and cultivated fields.
Walking the paths of this park gives you the idea of being in a thousand different places in just one. There are places in this park that are reachable only on foot, and this gives an idea of how intact the natural landscape of the Maremma Nature Park is. Cala di Forno, for example, is an isolated pearl reachable only on foot and is bathed by a crystalline sea.
Some of the routes are simple, some a little more complex, and they allow you to explore the Maremma nature until you reach the peaks with breathtaking views, such as the one that opens up from the Torre di Collelungo. Here too, the hand of man has not been harmful, but rather has helped the landscape become even more spectacular.
In fact, man and nature coexist here in cultivated fields that make the landscape even more breathtaking. The butteri, the mounted cowboys of the Maremma, are still the living symbol of the park today. The area is therefore ideal for those who love trekking and cycling.
Here every path tells a story and every view invites you to slow down. The Maremma is a special place, and this park is the unique demonstration of it.
