The Monviso Natural Park is a corner of unspoiled nature dominated by the majestic silhouette of Monviso, rising to about 3,840 meters, nestled in the Cottian Alps of Piedmont. Monviso is also known as the "Stone Mountain" and has inspired poets and climbers over the years. With its alpine lakes and the source of the Po River, it is an unmissable destination for mountain lovers.
Everyone knows that the Monviso pyramid offers breathtaking views and is visible from a large part of Piedmont. The trails, such as the one leading to Lake Fiorenza, offer glimpses of flowered meadows and snow-capped peaks. The park is a refuge for alpine flora and fauna, where you can find ibex, golden eagles, and various botanical species. In autumn, the colors ignite in shades of brown and gold, creating a magical image.
Lake Fiorenza is not the only one present. Around Lago Superiore (Upper Lake), there is an easy trail, but it is overshadowed by the more technical ascents toward the Monviso summit. The mountain offers different types of experiences for anyone who wants to tackle them, from the simplest to the most difficult.
The source of the Po River is reachable from Pian del Re, a symbolic destination for those who want to discover the origin of Italy's longest river. Here you will find peace and true nature, silence in the valleys, and alpine sounds that create a regenerating atmosphere and experience.
Immersing yourself in the heart of the Piedmontese Alps is ideal for those seeking a profound connection with nature.
