Reierhof Wildlife Park in Val di Casies

Autore: Redazione 31/08/2025 16:02

Nestled among the pristine mountains of South Tyrol, at an altitude between 1,400 and 1,500 meters, the Reierhof Wildlife Park offers an authentic experience in close contact with nature. The favorable climate of the valley and the wide green spaces create an ideal habitat for over 100 animals, including domestic species, rare breeds, and even some endangered ones.

As you stroll among the enclosures and meadows, you’ll meet pigs, horses, cattle, birds, and small farm animals, as well as more unusual residents such as Tibetan yaks, zebu, buffalo, bison, camels, alpacas, and llamas. There are also elegant ibexes, graceful fallow deer, and many other fascinating species from both the Alps and distant continents.

Your visit can continue with a tour of the farmstead, discovering traditional South Tyrolean rural life, or with a walk along the scenic Talblick Trail, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Val di Casies and the surrounding park — as if seen from a bird’s-eye perspective.

For those seeking relaxation, the park features a green area with a lawn for sunbathing, a small lake with a raft, and picnic spots. Children can have fun in the large playground, while during the summer months, the traditional inn opens its doors, serving local products and homemade specialties from the farmhouse.

The animal collection is constantly renewed, ensuring new encounters with every visit. This experience is suitable for everyone — including families with young children — and guests staying at the property can access the park throughout the year.

Opening hours:

  • June, July, September: daily 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (closed on Tuesdays) – last entry at 5:00 p.m.
  • August: open daily 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (last entry at 5:00 p.m.)
