Park of the Stars: Adrenaline and Nature on Mount Serra Pollino

Autore: Redazione 29/08/2025 15:21

Who said fun in Basilicata is only about the sea and swimming pools? In Trecchina, on Mount Serra Pollino at over 1,000 metres above sea level, rises the Park of the Stars — a unique destination that combines adrenaline, nature, and outdoor adventure.

As soon as visitors step through the entrance, they’re greeted by the spectacular Milky Way, an 800-metre alpine coaster that winds through the forest. Speeds can reach up to 40 km/h, guaranteeing thrilling yet safe excitement thanks to the built-in braking system.

The park

The park’s signature attraction is the Big Bang — a giant swing that lifts visitors 18 metres high, offering breathtaking views of the Maratea Valley. With 360° rotations and speeds of up to 60 km/h, it’s an experience that truly takes your breath away.

For younger adventurers, there are dedicated attractions: three slides named after famous comets and a tubing track to enjoy on inflatable rings. Sports lovers will find plenty to enjoy too, from a 4-km downhill track to the “Pegasus” horse trail, a 6-km path perfect for scenic rides on horseback.

The park also features a paragliding launch area, shaded picnic zones surrounded by greenery, and even a panoramic terrace where visitors can savour local Lucanian delicacies. It’s a complete experience — where adrenaline, nature, and Basilicata’s traditions blend into one stunning setting.

Open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (from 10:00 a.m. on Sundays), the Park of the Stars is an original and surprising destination where Basilicata reveals its most adventurous side, offering experiences that are truly unforgettable.
