Parcallario: The Adventure Park in the Green Heart of Sicily

Autore: Redazione 31/07/2025 15:48

In southeastern Sicily, just a few minutes from Buccheri and about an hour from Syracuse, Catania, and Ragusa, lies Parcallario, the first and largest Adventure Park in the Iblean Mountains. Immersed in the lush Bosco di Santa Maria, where centuries-old oaks, pines, and chestnut trees dominate the landscape, the park offers an unforgettable experience in close contact with nature.

Parcallario features nine tree-top courses designed for both adults and children aged 8 and up, equipped with advanced safety systems and a continuous lifeline. It’s the perfect place to challenge yourself across suspended bridges, zip lines, platforms, and aerial obstacles—all surrounded by the enchanting wilderness of the Sicilian countryside.

The Areas and Courses

Depending on age and height, the courses are divided into different levels to ensure maximum safety and fun.

For the little ones (ages 3–7), there’s a baby area that includes a castle with towers, bridges, and net-protected walkways, a treehouse, and a large suspended net six meters above the ground with a final slide.

From 8 years and older, the adventure becomes more challenging with nine levels of difficulty:

  • Green Course – Recommended age: 8+, Minimum height: 120 cm
An introductory course with seven easy and fun steps to develop balance and agility.
  • Orange Course – Minimum height: 120 cm
A perfect beginner’s route to gain confidence.
  • Purple Course – Minimum height: 140 cm
Seven zip-line sections—ideal for those who love to “fly” among the trees.
  • Blue Course – Minimum height: 140 cm
Medium difficulty, up to 8 meters high—requires focus and coordination.
  • Red Course – Minimum height: 140 cm
Eight crossings, including three long zip lines—a step up in excitement.
  • Brown Course – Minimum height: 140 cm
A technically demanding route for the more experienced adventurers.
  • Light Blue Course – Minimum height: 150 cm
The newest addition—panoramic, with two zip lines and a climbing wall.
  • Grey Course – Minimum height: 140 cm
Seven smooth and scenic zip-line crossings.
  • Black Course – Minimum height: 150 cm
The toughest of all: ten technical crossings, dizzying heights, and a long final zip line—only for the brave!

Relaxation and Flavors in the Woods

After so much adrenaline, it’s time for a well-deserved break. Inside the park, visitors can enjoy picnic tables under the pine trees or use the barbecue areas. For those who prefer ready-made meals, there are refreshment kiosks offering sandwiches, pizzas, and locally sourced products.
