Mutty Gallery in Brescia presents Doing Nothing until April 4, 2026, marking Orfeo Tagiuri's first solo exhibition in Italy. The show brings together paper drawings, short animations and archival material that explore the significance of stillness and attention to ordinary moments.
Tagiuri's practice stems from observing ordinary gestures and moments: visual notes and short reflections that together form a personal alphabet for describing relationships, memories and lapses of calm. Rather than endorsing passivity, the exhibition's title Doing Nothing suggests a deliberate pause — a mindful pause to let thoughts surface and to notice small, meaningful details like sunlight between buildings.
Alongside the drawings, brief animations—created by the artist for contemporary music projects—add movement and sound to the viewing experience, while the archive case documents stages of the creative process through studies and sketches.
Practical tips: allow extra time to read the captions and watch the looped animations; the minimal display encourages a slow, personal engagement with the works.
