An exhibition dedicated to Mario Servalli has opened at Museo Maio in Cassina de' Pecchi. The show gathers paintings, photographic works and pixel art to celebrate Servalli's multidisciplinary practice and to raise funds for Filippide Lombardia. Works on display are available for purchase, with proceeds donated to support services for people with disabilities.
Servalli combined a scientific background with a visual sensibility: trained as a biologist, he conducted immunological research and later expressed his curiosity about the world through photography and painting. His late-career experiments in pixel art explored light and color at the level of digital granularity, treating pixels with a sculptural approach.
The exhibition, organized by his family — notably his wife Maria Cristina Chiara and daughter Michela — spans key moments of Servalli's production, including:
Notably, one of his photographs was selected among the top ten entries at the Sony World Photography Awards in 2013, highlighting the international quality of his photographic work. He also developed a cosmetic line based on natural ingredients discovered during his travels.
The exhibition opened on 14 March 2026 and runs through 28 March 2026. Visiting hours are:
This presentation offers insight into how scientific inquiry and artistic practice intersect in Servalli's work, from analog photography to digital experimentation.
The show is recommended for visitors interested in the intersection of art and science, travel photography and experimental digital techniques like pixel art. Purchasing works supports local social initiatives through Filippide Lombardia.
