Night of Museums in San Severino: extended openings and photo exhibition

On Saturday, 23 May 2026 San Severino Marche takes part in the Night of Museums with evening openings and a programme running from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The event features guided visits, themed routes and entertainment in Piazza del Popolo.

What to see

Museums, art collections and monuments across the town will be open through two main options:

• Historic Centre route – departure from the Pro Loco office in Piazza del Popolo, where visitors receive a tour map. Guided tours are scheduled at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Recommended stops include the "Filippo Bigioli" Modern Art Gallery, Feronia Theatre, Francesco Antolisei Library, MARec (Museum of Recovered Art), various historic churches and the Muset (Museum of Electricity and the Territory).
• Shuttle route – three departures from San Domenico at 8:00 PM, 9:15 PM and 10:30 PM, serving the Giuseppe Moretti Archaeological Museum at Castello al Monte, the Madonna dei Lumi sanctuary, San Salvatore in Colpersito and the Muset.

The Library exhibition

The Civic Library Francesco Antolisei hosts the exhibition "San Severino Marche in the 20th century. The town told through images from the Library's photographic archive". The display showcases photographs documenting everyday life, public celebrations, schools and work, offering a visual account of local history.

The photographic archive is undergoing conservation, cataloguing and digitisation as part of the Connections and Identity project. Tasks include detailed indexing, protective re-housing and the creation of a digital platform to make the collection accessible online.
