Próthesis: Dafne Frasca's solo exhibition

Próthesis is a solo presentation by visual artist Dafne Frasca, hosted at Spazio MICROBA in collaboration with the Fondazione Mons. Sante Montanaro. The exhibition showcases a recent body of paintings that challenge the role of the window-device, turning private visual experiences into material images and incorporating sound-based components.

The exhibition

The show gathers a selection of recent works in which Frasca applies thick, textured strokes that disrupt clear readings: the relationship with the pictorial window is reversed and becomes a space for fragmented, private visions. The works extend beyond painting to include sonic and performative elements that modify how the gallery space is perceived.

Awards and background

Dafne Frasca (Taranto, 1996) is a PhD candidate at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Lecce with degrees in Painting. Her research merges visual arts and acousmatic music; she has presented sound performances and contributed to specialist publications. Recently she received the Green Talent award and the People's Jury Prize in the Don Sante Contemporary Art Prize.

Why visit

Próthesis provides a chance to engage with the formal and sensory developments of a young artist exploring the intersection of image and sound. The exhibition encourages a reflective, sensory approach to the material works on display.
