Destinazione donna: religious routes to discover female authority in Naples

The second edition of Destinazione donna returns to Naples, offering religious and cultural routes focused on women who exercised leadership and care within their communities. The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Naples' Tourism Department in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Naples.

The program highlights female figures—queens, founders, educators and civic actors—whose roles translated into care for people, memory and the city.

• Period: from 15 April to 1 November 2026.
• Program: 13 religious itineraries, 54 events in 18 sites including churches and basilicas.
• Participation: free access with mandatory booking via Eventbrite.
• Special visits: Church of Santa Maria di Donnalbina on 23 May and 30 October 2026.
• Musical events: a series starting on 23 May 2026.

The initiative frames female authority through the lens of care, relationships and cultural stewardship. Guided walks and visits give participants access to sacred sites connected to the biographies of women significant to Naples' history.
