Dates: May 1 - September 30, 2026. A town-wide exhibition acting as an open-air museum, accessible 24/7 in its outdoor sections.
'The Visionaries' brings large-scale sculptures by Emanuele Giannelli to the streets and public spaces of Barga. The works—monumental figures that explore themes of progress and the future—are installed throughout the historic center and nearby valley, creating a route that links galleries, restaurants and public venues.
The project features two complementary parts: an external, freely accessible route across the village and an internal solo show with its core at the Oxo Gallery (Piazza del Comune 5).
The official inauguration is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026: ceremony at 18:00 at Porta Reale and the gallery opening at 19:00 at Oxo Gallery. The outdoor route is largely open to the public at any hour, perfect for self-guided cultural walks.
Giannelli’s sculptures invite reflection on technology, desire and uncertainty, bringing contemporary art into public life. The exhibition enhances Barga’s historic setting while offering accessible encounters with modern artistic languages.
The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Barga, the Tuscany Region, Oxo Gallery and local partners, promoting a widely accessible cultural experience throughout the town.
