Naples: 'Vintage Vibes — Passions on Wheels' opens at the Pietrarsa National Railway Museum

The Pietrarsa National Railway Museum inaugurated "Vintage Vibes: passions on wheels" on 3 April 2026. The exhibition, curated by Fondazione FS, runs until 17 May 2026 and stages a dialogue between historic railway vehicles and vintage automobiles to explore twentieth-century Italian style and mobility.

The exhibition highlights a selection of classic cars, design sketches and memorabilia that together trace the evolution of public and private transport in Italy.

  • Main exhibits: vehicles from the Lopresto Collection, including an Alfa Romeo 1900L associated with President Giovanni Gronchi and a Fiat 1500 linked to actress Anna Magnani.
  • Design focus: drawings and sketches by Pininfarina that show how car design influenced railway aesthetics.
  • Rare pieces: a Lancia Florida and other notable coachbuilt models.
  • Memorabilia: period photographs, personal objects and a famous Vespa owned by a football champion complete the display.

The show appeals to classic car enthusiasts and railway heritage visitors alike, offering insights into design, technology and popular culture across the twentieth century.

Practical info: the exhibition is on view until 17 May 2026. For opening times, ticketing and visitor information, check the Pietrarsa National Railway Museum website or Fondazione FS channels.
