M9 Museum in Mestre: contemporary art enters a dialogue with the 20th century

The M9 Museum in Mestre has broadened its exhibition program to create a conversation between contemporary practices and 20th-century history. The director describes the museum as a "third place", designed to bring together disciplines and diverse perspectives to make the century's history more accessible through contemporary visual languages.

From March 14 to April 12, the museum opens two new shows that inaugurate this approach:

  • "Risonanze invisibili" – a solo exhibition by Michelangelo Penso, in the Orizzonti gallery on the first floor; curated by Leo Lecci.
  • "La serena inquietudine del territorio – Into the Land" – an exhibition in the Passaggi corridor on the second floor, focusing on landscape and environmental change.

Both projects address timely issues: the intersection of art, technology and society, and contemporary representations of landscape. The museum plans to systematize contemporary programming to offer new interpretative keys for understanding both the present and the 20th century, which is the institution's core focus.

Visitor information:

  • Venue: M9 Museum, Mestre (Venice)
  • Exhibition period: March 14 – April 12
  • Main themes: contemporary art, technology, landscape, interdisciplinary dialogue
  • Curated by: Leo Lecci (for Michelangelo Penso's solo)

The museum's new direction aims to integrate temporary displays and multidisciplinary languages, positioning M9 as a reference point for those seeking contemporary perspectives on 20th-century history.
