Galleria Borghese in Cuneo: public response and figures

The exhibition Galleria Borghese. From Raphael to Bernini. History of a Collection, opened on 22 November 2025 at the Complesso Monumentale di San Francesco in Cuneo and closed on 12 April 2026. The show recorded a total of 35,530 visitors, ranking among the season's most attended cultural events.

Educational program and engagement

The project included an extensive schedule of educational and side activities aimed at diverse audiences. Key figures:

  • 370 free guided tours for groups, with over 8,000 participants;
  • More than 3,300 students involved (nursery, primary and secondary schools), covering 155 classes;
  • 47 complementary events: 9 for children and young people, 14 for adults, 18 special visits and 6 off-site activities.

Organization and cultural impact

Curated by Francesca Cappelletti and Ettore Giovanati, the exhibition was presented with support from Fondazione CRC and Intesa Sanpaolo, produced with organizational support by MondoMostre and held under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture. The program emphasized accessibility and community participation, turning the event into a cultural laboratory for the local area.

Significance: the exhibition traced the history of collecting through works rarely shown to the public, providing meaningful insights for both general audiences and school groups. High attendance highlights how complementary activities can boost engagement and broaden access to artistic heritage.

Although the exhibition has ended, it sets a replicable model for future collaborations between cultural institutions and local stakeholders to promote territory-wide cultural participation.
