On Sunday 3 May 2026 Turin takes part in the monthly free-museum initiative: several state museums and historic sites open their doors without charge. It's a convenient chance to explore palaces, chapels and castles, from permanent collections to temporary exhibitions.
Musei Reali access (Palazzo Reale, Armeria Reale, Cappella della Sindone, Museo di Antichità and Galleria Sabauda): free admission tickets are distributed at the museums' ticket offices on the day, until they are exhausted. No online booking is required for these free tickets.
Palazzo Carignano requires booking the free ticket for self-guided visits via the official booking channels. For Villa della Regina, Castello di Agliè and Castello di Racconigi booking is not always mandatory but is strongly recommended; check the official sites for reservations and updates.
Opening times may change: before you go, consult the official pages of each museum to confirm hours, possible access limits and route details.
To make the most of the day, arrive early, check capacity limits and book where suggested. Enjoy your visit!
