Cagliari Civic Museums: what to see

The Cagliari Civic Museums offer varied routes for different audiences, from 20th-century collections to temporary exhibitions focused on major artists and local culture. Self-guided visits highlight important works, while events and workshops enrich the program for families and schools.

Featured exhibitions

  • Faces and Stories of Sardinia (1913–1964) – a selection of sixteen works; on display until 30 June 2026.

  • Sunday 17 May, 4:00 PM – special guided tours of the collections and temporary exhibition. €3 supplement on top of standard ticket; reservation required.
  • Wednesday 20 May, 4:30 PM – themed readings for children 3-5 years followed by a creative workshop. Fee €4; limited places; reservation required.
  • Thursday 21 May, 4:30 PM – creative workshop for children 6-10 years: spring landscapes with recycled materials. Fee €4; limited places; reservation required.
  • Saturday 23 May, 11:00 AM – Insta-Walk in the Public Gardens: photographic walk for a public Instagram profile. Fee €8; maximum 10 participants; reservation required.
  • Sunday 24 May, 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM – special guided visits to the Antonio Ligabue exhibition with art historians. €3 supplement on top of standard ticket; reservation required.

Practical information

Reservations: required for workshops, guided tours and the Insta-Walk. Free-flow visits generally do not need booking unless otherwise stated for specific events.

Approximate costs: children's activities usually €4; guided tours and special events have a €3 supplement on the admission ticket; Insta-Walk €8. Many activities have limited capacity (10–15 people).
