On Thursday 2 April at 5:00 PM the Galleria Manoni (Corso Garibaldi 55/A, Forlì) opens the exhibition “Traluoghi”, presenting works by Fred Baumgart Kanena and Dagmar Körkemeier. The show creates a conversation between two contemporary practices with an international perspective.
Dagmar Körkemeier (born 1970 in Rietberg, based in Paderborn) exhibits paintings that narrate urban scenes and everyday encounters. A teacher of graphic arts and drawing, she employs mixed techniques to transform objects and neighborhood vignettes into visual stories.
Fred Baumgart Kanena (born 1960 in Kanena, Halle an der Saale) shows gestural paintings that incorporate figurative elements and darker fragments applied on supports such as acrylic mirrors, handmade papers and reclaimed materials. He also works on larger installations using mirrors, metals, chrome finishes, light and sound, often inspired by everyday objects and food remnants.
The exhibition offers a clear comparison between material-focused practices and personal memory expressed through objects. Visitors attending the opening are invited to a brief toast afterwards. For exact visiting times, please contact Galleria Manoni directly.
