Easter and Spring at the Archaeological Park: Guided Tours and Free Entry in Ostia and Fiumicino
Throughout April the Archaeological Park schedules a series of activities at Ostia Antica and the archaeological areas of Fiumicino: themed guided tours, special openings and free admission days. Below is the main program and practical advice for visitors.
- Saturday, April 4 – 11:30 – "Pot Pourri": guided tour of the Ostia excavations exploring the city's cultural and religious diversity.
- Sunday, April 5 (Easter) – #domenicalmuseo: free entry to all Park sites, according to each site's schedule.
- Monday, April 6 (Easter Monday) – all Park sites will be open; at 11:30 a guided visit to Castello di Giulio II with the thematic route "Water Everywhere".
- Tuesday, April 7 – adjusted closure days for some Fiumicino sites: the Museum of Ships, the ports of Claudius and Trajan area, and the Porto necropolis will follow different timetables; Ostia excavations and Castello di Giulio II remain open.
- Wednesday, April 8 – 18:00 – presentation of the book "Ostia by the sea" at the Institutum Romanum Finlandiae; later, presentation of the "Art Outside the Museum" project in Rome.
- Friday, April 10 – from 10:00 – Museum of Ships: official presentation of the S.T.Ar.T. Ostia project, winner of the Lazio Innova call.
- April 17–18 – the Park Director will speak at the conference "Water in the Cities of Roman Italy" with a session on Ostia's water systems.
- April 25 (Liberation Day) – free admission to all Park sites, following each site's opening hours.
