Monti Rossi Adventure Park: The Thrill Among the Trees of Etna

Autore: Redazione 31/07/2025 15:53

Nestled in the Monti Rossi pine forest of Nicolosi, on the Etna slope closest to Catania, lies the Monti Rossi Adventure Park, an adventure park set inside an ancient extinct volcanic cone.

Here, fun literally takes place among the treetops: nine suspended courses, arranged by level of difficulty, offer thrilling challenges between balance logs, Tibetan bridges, zip lines, and even sections to tackle upside down. For the bravest adventurers, there’s also Up2Tree, a demanding vertical climb up a tree. Everything is done in total safety, thanks to the personal protective equipment provided at the entrance (helmet, harness, carabiners) and the CLiC-iT system, an innovative anti-fall mechanism that prevents both carabiners from being detached at the same time.

The Courses

The park offers eight different routes, designed to suit all ages:

  • Baby (ages 2–5, max height 110 cm, max weight 50 kg): an easy, supervised course accessible only under adult supervision.
  • White, Yellow, Light Blue: for children at least 110 cm tall, with increasing difficulty but always within reach.
  • Green (minimum height 130 cm): mandatory to access the other adult courses.
  • Blue, Violet: for older or more athletic participants, with demanding passages requiring balance and strength.
  • Up2Tree: a vertical challenge for everyone, from 20 to 100 kg.

Each course has clear safety rules: maximum two people per platform, one per obstacle, maximum weight 120 kg (on adult courses), and constant supervision of minors by an adult.

More Than Just Adventure

Monti Rossi Adventure Park is not only about action. Inside, you’ll also find a picnic area, a relaxation zone, nature trails to explore the pine forest on foot, and a free slackline to test your balance. The park also hosts educational workshops for school groups, summer camps, and scouts, combining fun with environmental awareness. A small but well-stocked refreshment area offers cold drinks and snacks.

Prices, Offers, and Discounts

Entry to the park is free all year round, except on holidays such as Easter Monday, April 25, May 1, June 2, and August 15, when a symbolic €1 ticket is required.

Prices vary depending on the chosen course, with discounts for groups over 20 people and for residents of Nicolosi. Additional reductions are available for schools, camps, oratories, and scout groups upon request. However, on red-marked calendar days, no discounts or partnerships apply.
