Monteriggioni Goes Medieval: Festival July 9–12, 2026

For four days the walled village of Monteriggioni becomes a living set of medieval life: the 33rd edition of the Medieval Festival features a packed schedule designed for families, history lovers and visitors. Musicians, performers, reenactors and craftsmen will animate streets and squares, recreating the look and feel of historical courts and markets.

  • Dates: July 9–12, 2026.
  • Location: historic center and walls of Monteriggioni (Siena).
  • Highlights: itinerant theatre, early music, dances, historical combat shows, fire performances and craft demonstrations.
  • Medieval Banquet: official opening on Thursday, July 9 at 20:00 in Piazza Alighieri. Dinner-show with medieval-inspired dishes; reservation required through the Monteriggioni tourist office.
  • Taverns & Food: themed taverns serving local traditional dishes in a period atmosphere.
  • Organisers: promoted by the Municipality with support from Monteriggioni AD 1213 and local associations.

Practical tips: arrive early on busy days, book the banquet if you plan to attend the dinner, and check the festival's official channels for the full programme and logistical updates. The event suits all ages and is a great opportunity to explore the village and its panoramic walks beyond the festival activities.
