Night of Museums 2026: Grande Pompei and Vesuvian sites open in the evening

On Saturday, 23 May 2026, for the Night of Museums the main sites of the Grande Pompei will offer evening openings with a symbolic ticket of €1 (reductions and free admission apply according to regulations).

• Villa of Poppaea - Oplontis
• Villa Regina and Antiquarium - Boscoreale
• Villa San Marco, Villa Arianna and the "Libero D'Orsi" Archaeological Museum - Stabiae

Hours and practical info

Sites will be open from 19:30 to 23:30, with last admission at 22:30. Evening routes are priced at €1 per access; applicable reductions and free-entry categories follow current rules.

Main Pompeii itineraries

• First route: entry from Piazza Anfiteatro, visit to the Palestra Grande with the new eruption exhibit (organic remains and victims) and the theatrical performance "People of Plaster" in the garden; continuation through three historic domus (Praedia di Giulia Felice, House of Venus in Shell, House of Loreius Tiburtinus). Approximate duration: ~1 hour.
• Second route: visit to the Villa of the Mysteries and transfer by shuttle to Boscoreale for Villa Regina and the Antiquarium. This includes the Pompeii Artebus service. Duration: ~40 minutes in Pompeii + ~60 minutes in Boscoreale.

Supporting activities

• At Oplontis (Villa of Poppaea) free guided tours by ArcheoClub d'Italia - Torre Annunziata start from 19:30, last guided slot at 22:00. Last admission for Villa of Poppaea is 22:30 and no booking is required.
• In Boscoreale the workshop "Sounds of Prehistory and Antiquity" runs at the Antiquarium Auditorium from 19:30 to 23:30 (last entry 22:30), open to all without booking.
• At the "Libero D'Orsi" Archaeological Museum in Stabiae free guided tours by the Antica Necropoli di Stabiae association are scheduled at 20:00 and 21:00. Info: [email protected].

Practical tips

• Arrive early to avoid queues at the entrances and secure spots in routes with performances.
• For the two main Pompeii routes, booking via Vivaticket is recommended; tickets are also available at the Villa dei Misteri access points and Boscoreale ticket office.
• Verify access rules and reductions for eligible categories before your visit.
