Merenda nell’Oliveta 2026: “The Olive of the Republic”

From 25 April to 28 June 2026, Merenda nell’Oliveta returns as a nationwide initiative promoted by the Associazione nazionale Città dell’Olio to highlight the cultural, landscape and social value of olive growing in Italy. The 2026 edition, the sixth, is themed "The Olive of the Republic" in honour of the country’s 80th anniversary.

The event is staged across roughly 80 Cities of Oil in 17 regions and features outdoor programmes aimed at families, visitors and local communities.

• Collective symbolic acts: the tricolour bruschetta offered as a communal rite;
• Tastings of extra virgin olive oil, workshops, music and cultural moments;
• Activities focused on wellbeing, nature and the enhancement of olive-growing landscapes.

Initial dates include Castelvetrano (TP) on 25 April and events in Duino Aurisina (TS), Brenzone (VR) and Cavaion Veronese (VR) on 26 April, with further local programmes through May and June.
