Grottaglie celebrates ceramics with 'Buongiorno Ceramica!'

The Ceramics Quarter and Castello Episcopio in Grottaglie become an open-air workshop for two days as part of Buongiorno Ceramica!, the event promoted by the Italian Association of Cities of Ceramics (AiCC) that involves around 60 municipalities nationwide.

• Open workshops and demonstrations: master potters at the wheel and guided visits to historic studios.
• Potter for a day: hands-on stations on Via Crispi to try clay working with TorniAmo Aps.
• Good morning on the plate: a route by Slow Food Grottaglie Vigne e Ceramiche exploring the link between utilitarian ceramics and local food traditions.
• Family activities: free workshops, traditional games and itinerant music with the Banda Città di Grottaglie.
• Museum and themed routes: visits to the Museum of Ceramics and the "Forme vive: animals and flowers in maiolica" trail.

Organized by the Municipality's Department for Culture, Tourism and Ceramic Promotion together with CoopCulture and local associations, the event aims to showcase a long-standing craft tradition and foster dialogue between masters, artists and younger generations. Now in its 12th edition, the festival confirms Grottaglie's role as a leading center in Italy's artistic ceramics network.
