"Trees" by Isacco Emiliani in Lugo
When: May 19–31, 2026. Where: Pescherie della Rocca estense, Lugo.
The exhibition "Trees" displays 40 night photographs of monumental trees from the Bassa Romagna area, produced over seven years and 132 night expeditions. The images reveal the presence, resilience and vulnerability of these landscape guardians.
Vernissage and main program
- Vernissage: Tuesday, May 19 at 6:00 PM — a dialogue between photographer Isacco Emiliani and scholar Valido Capodarca.
- At 8:30 PM the evening continues with the talk "The 5,000-Year Olive", featuring Marina Barham (Al Harah Theatre, Bethlehem) on theatre as a space of connection and renewal.

- Friday, May 22, 6:00 PM: preview of the Lugo Music Festival (presentation of the 2026 program).
- Tuesday, May 26, 8:00–11:00 PM: workshop "Night Vision" led by Isacco Emiliani (limited places; booking required).
- Thursday, May 28: 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM children’s workshop "The Man with the Green Coat" with illustrator Irene Penazzi; 9:00 PM book presentation "The Buddhist Sparrow" with author Tiziano Fratus in conversation with Rosella Ghedini.
- Sunday, May 31: 11:00 AM chamber quartet concert "Maple, Fir, Ebony"; at 4:00 PM a guided photographic walk "Along the Canale dei Molini" with Elena Ghini.
Visiting hours and youth activities
The exhibition is open on weekdays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM; on public holidays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Additionally, from May 18 to June 18 a children’s display titled "Magic Trees" is on view in the Ragazzi section of Biblioteca Trisi, showing works by school classes involved in an educational project on trees and landscape.

Isacco Emiliani (Faenza, b.1991) focuses on visual and audiovisual projects about sustainability and environmental protection. After international fieldwork, he returns to Romagna to spotlight a little-known but invaluable natural heritage through nocturnal photography.
