Lucania Outdoor Park – adventure among the Little Lucanian Dolomites

Autore: Redazione 01/08/2025 13:49

In the Gallipoli Cognato and Little Lucanian Dolomites Regional Natural Park, there is a place — the Lucania Outdoor Park — considered a must-visit destination for anyone seeking exciting outdoor experiences suitable for the whole family.

Lucania Outdoor Park features acrobatic courses suspended among the trees, built with wooden platforms, steel cables, rope bridges, and zip lines. Before starting any course, a safety briefing with the staff is required, during which participants are instructed on how to use the safety equipment correctly. Each adventurer is then provided with professional harnesses to ensure maximum protection during the activities.

The routes are divided by difficulty level, adapting to every type of adventurer — from beginners to experts:

  • Yellow Course (€6): ideal for children and beginners. One easy loop among simple obstacles, suitable for those over 1.10 m tall.
  • Green Course (€10): an intermediate challenge with more demanding bridges, for those at least 1.40 m tall.
  • Complete Course (€15): for the most daring, includes the Green, Blue, and Violet routes — a concentrated mix of adrenaline and physical endurance.

Requirements: minimum age of 12 (supervision required for those under 16), weight under 120 kg, comfortable clothing, and no jewelry or piercings. And of course, a strong desire to challenge yourself!

Safe climbing

For those who dream of climbing trees like in an adventure movie, the park also offers a tree-climbing activity. After putting on a helmet and harness, participants can climb a trunk under the constant supervision of an instructor who controls the safety rope from the ground. The activity lasts about 15 minutes and costs only €5. It’s also open to children aged 4 and up.

There are also more relaxing yet equally engaging activities, such as archery. Suitable for ages 10 and up, this discipline is perfect for improving focus and coordination, even for complete beginners. Each session lasts 30 minutes and costs €7 per participant.

Lunch break in nature

After so much adventure, what could be better than a meal surrounded by greenery? The Lucania Outdoor Park offers a picnic area equipped with barbecues, perfect for families and groups of up to 8 people. The fee is €15 per table and includes firewood, fire starters, and recycling bags (separate waste collection is mandatory). It’s a great way to recharge in the peaceful silence of the Lucanian woods.

Tailor-made experiences for everyone

Whether you’re a solo adventurer, part of a big family, or on a trip with friends, Lucania Outdoor Park has the right activity for you. The park’s versatility makes it the perfect place to spend an unforgettable day — full of challenges, laughter, and a deep connection with nature.

A tip: book in advance and take advantage of the day to explore the surrounding trails. From here, several routes for mountain biking and hiking start, leading straight into the heart of the Little Lucanian Dolomites, one of the most stunning landscapes in southern Italy.
