Lainate (MI): Villa Visconti Borromeo Litta reopens, a jewel with a unique Ninfeo

Villa Visconti Borromeo Litta in Lainate reopens to visitors for the 2026 season, with the official reopening set for Friday 1 May. The programme includes guided tours of the famous Ninfeo, frescoed noble halls and the formal Italian gardens.

The estate combines architecture, historic horticulture and still-working hydraulic devices that create surprising water displays. The 19th-century greenhouses preserve a historic collection of over 2,800 orchids and numerous succulents.

• Ninfeo and water games: unique in Europe for its mosaics, frescoes and mechanical water features.
• Ninfeo Hour: special Saturday experiences in May and October with guided visits and an option for an affordable aperitif at Al Canevone 2.0.
• Ninfeo under the stars: from June to September, Saturday evening openings (21:00–22:00) offering an immersive night-time visit.
• 2026 highlights: confirmed events include Ville Aperte in Brianza (9–17 May), Ninfeamus (24 May), Jazz Festival (25–27 June), Short Out Festival (7–12 July) and the San Rocco fair with historical reenactment (early September).
